Blinkit Accused of Scam: Delhi Resident Claims He Received Half-Gram Gold Coin Instead of Ordered One-Gram Coin

In the midst of online grocery platforms like Zomato’s Blinkit offering quick delivery of gold and silver coins on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras, a Delhi resident has raised serious allegations of a scam. Mohit Jain, a Blinkit customer, claims he was sent a 0.5-gram gold coin instead of the 1-gram gold coin he ordered, along with a silver coin, on the platform.

Jain took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express his frustration and share his ordeal. He explained that he was not home to receive the order and authorized his brother to accept it using the OTP. Upon returning home, Jain was shocked to discover the discrepancy and found that he had been delivered a 0.5-gram Malabar gold coin with a rose design instead of the 1-gram Mata Lakshmi gold coin he had purchased.

Making matters worse, Jain found that the return window for the order had closed after just 20 minutes, leaving him unable to contact customer support. He reached out to the delivery person, recounting his distress over the situation. Despite the delivery person having pictures of the 1-gram coin Jain had ordered, he was unable to offer a solution. CCTV footage further corroborated Jain’s claim that he received the incorrect item.

To back up his allegation, Jain shared a picture of the 0.5-gram gold coin he received, alongside screenshots of his order details and his conversation with Blinkit’s customer support. The screenshots clearly show the company acknowledging the discrepancy and informing Jain that the complaint window was closed. They then offered a generic automated response asking for feedback on the issue.

Jain’s tweet quickly went viral, garnering widespread attention and sparking outrage among users who shared similar experiences with Blinkit and criticized the company’s customer service. Several users pointed out that this isn’t an isolated incident, with many expressing frustration over Blinkit’s lack of responsiveness and inability to resolve customer issues.

This incident raises serious questions about Blinkit’s commitment to customer satisfaction and raises concerns about the platform’s reliability, especially when dealing with high-value items like gold and silver. With the company facing growing criticism, it remains to be seen how they will address this situation and whether they will take steps to ensure customer protection and prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
