King Charles III, accompanied by his wife Queen Camilla, has been enjoying a discreet wellness retreat in Bengaluru, India since October 27th. This marks the King’s inaugural visit to the city as monarch, though he has previously visited Bengaluru multiple times as Prince of Wales, forging a special connection with the ‘Garden City of India.’ The royal couple opted for the renowned Soukya International Holistic Health Centre (SIHHC) in Whitefield for this visit, seeking a respite from their busy schedules and embracing the centre’s holistic wellness offerings.
Their arrival was kept low-key, with no formal state reception at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) airport. While the airport primarily handles scheduled flights, it also caters to corporate flights and VIP travel, making the King and Queen’s arrival seamless. There were no official traffic restrictions for their journey to the health centre.
During their stay, King Charles and Queen Camilla have been engaging in a variety of activities designed for relaxation and rejuvenation, including morning yoga sessions and various wellness therapies. They are also enjoying meditation sessions and partaking in meals prepared on the premises. Long walks through the centre’s peaceful surroundings have become part of their daily routine, allowing them to unwind in nature’s embrace.
King Charles III holds a longstanding connection with the SIHHC, having celebrated his 71st birthday at the centre with a private celebration. This underscores his deep affinity for the place, which he has visited a total of nine times previously. On each visit, a dedicated team caters to his specific wellness needs.
Founded by Dr. Issac Mathai and Dr. Suja Issac in Samethanahalli, Whitefield, SIHHC is widely recognized for its holistic health services. It offers a wide range of treatments, including Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Acupressure, Yoga, and Homeopathy, among other traditional practices, providing a comprehensive approach to well-being.
The royal couple’s stay is expected to conclude on October 30th, marking the end of their unique wellness-focused visit to Bengaluru. This visit deepens their ties with India and further underscores their commitment to exploring holistic practices offered by SIHHC.
