## Li Auto Races Ahead in October: Chinese EV Startups Deliver Strong Sales

The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) market continues to heat up, with key players like Nio, Li Auto, and XPeng reporting their October delivery numbers. In a strong showing, Li Auto emerged as the leader, surpassing its competitors with a significant increase in sales.

Li Auto Tops the Chart

Li Auto announced on Friday that it delivered a remarkable 51,443 vehicles in October, representing a 27.3% jump in sales year-over-year. While this marked a slight decrease from September’s deliveries (nearly 54,000 vehicles), the company attributed the continued strong performance to robust sales across its entire model lineup. October also marked a significant milestone for Li Auto, as the company crossed the 1 million mark for cumulative deliveries, a testament to its growing market share.

XPeng Makes a Strong Showing

XPeng also reported a rise in deliveries for October, although it couldn’t quite keep pace with Li Auto’s impressive numbers. The Guangzhou-based EV startup delivered 23,917 vehicles last month, marking a 20% increase year-over-year and a 12% jump from September. Notably, the company’s new hatchback coupe, the XPENG MONA M03, surpassed 10,000 units in deliveries, showcasing its popularity among consumers.

Nio Gains Momentum with ONVO

Shanghai-based Nio, meanwhile, delivered 20,976 vehicles in October, including 16,657 NIO brand vehicles and 4,319 ONVO brand vehicles. While this represents a slight dip from its September delivery numbers, it signifies a significant 30.5% increase compared to October 2023. The launch of the ONVO L60, the first vehicle from Nio’s new family-oriented EV brand, in late September has clearly begun to boost sales, making October the first full month of sales for the brand.

The strong performance of these Chinese EV startups indicates a continued surge in demand for electric vehicles in the Chinese market. As these companies continue to innovate and expand their model lineups, they are poised to play an increasingly significant role in the global EV landscape.
