Bengaluru’s popular metered autorickshaw ride-hailing app, Nagaraa, is making waves with its new ‘NAMMA’ code, a game-changer in the city’s transport landscape. The launch, coinciding with the celebration of Karnataka Rajyotsava on November 1st, introduces a single, one-time password (OTP) that can be used for multiple rides throughout the day.
This innovative feature eliminates the need for passengers to repeatedly provide their pick-up location for each Nagaraa ride, streamlining the process and enhancing convenience. Niranjanardhya N, CEO of Brand Pride Mobility, the company behind Nagaraa, highlights the benefits for drivers as well: “Drivers can optimize their schedules as they’re able to identify customers faster, minimising idle time and increasing their daily rides.”
Looking ahead, Nagaraa is exploring a groundbreaking integration with the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL), a move that could revolutionize multi-modal travel within the city. This ambitious project holds the potential to seamlessly connect metro journeys with Nagaraa autorickshaw rides, creating a seamless and efficient travel experience for commuters. The revenue departments have expressed optimism about the integration, and negotiations with the BMRCL are currently underway.
Developed by Agnibu Technologies and Brand Pride Mobility, the Nagaraa app has gained significant traction in Bengaluru, boasting a network of around 6,200 autorickshaw drivers. These drivers have already completed 7,238 trips, earning an average of ₹118 per trip. The app’s user-friendly interface and efficient operations have contributed to its growing popularity among both riders and drivers.
The ‘NAMMA’ code is a testament to Nagaraa’s commitment to innovation and user experience. As the app explores further integration with the city’s transport infrastructure, it is poised to become an integral part of Bengaluru’s evolving transportation landscape.
