Meanwhile, Harris has secured wins in the Democratic strongholds of Vermont (3 Electoral College votes), Massachusetts (11), Maryland (10), and Washington DC (3).
These early results are largely in line with pre-election projections. Trump has been projected to win in Republican strongholds in the South, while Harris is expected to perform well in Democratic states on the East Coast.
The race to the 270-mark is still wide open. As things stand, Trump is currently ahead with 90 Electoral College votes to Harris’s 27. The battle for the White House is expected to be fierce, with both candidates vying for victory in key swing states that will ultimately decide the outcome of the election.
