## Travelodge Expands its Footprint in London with New St Paul’s Hotel
Travelodge, the well-known UK hotel chain, has made a strategic move to expand its presence in London by acquiring an office building in the heart of St Paul’s. This acquisition signifies a key step in Travelodge’s ongoing growth strategy across the UK.
The newly acquired building, known as Genesis House, spans 24,000 square feet on Godliman Street. Travelodge plans to transform this property into a bustling 95-room hotel complete with a vibrant 85-seat Bar Cafe, offering a convenient and welcoming destination for travelers.
This latest development is part of Travelodge’s ambitious plan to significantly increase its hotel network. The company has identified over 300 potential sites across the UK, highlighting a strong belief in the growth potential of the hotel industry.
The Genesis House project, entirely funded by the Travelodge OpCo Group, will commence conversion work in early 2026. Following necessary planning approvals, the hotel is projected to welcome its first guests in early 2027.
Beyond new developments, Travelodge is also actively exploring options to expand existing properties, showcasing its commitment to providing a diverse range of accommodation options for travelers.
Since its inception in 1985, Travelodge has established a formidable presence in the hospitality industry. The company currently boasts a portfolio of over 600 hotels and more than 47,000 rooms across the UK, Ireland, and Spain. This expansion reflects Travelodge’s dedication to offering accessible and comfortable accommodation for diverse travelers.
To ensure a consistently high standard, Travelodge is also committed to upgrading its existing hotels. The company aims to have 50% of its rooms refurbished to meet its latest design standards by the end of the year, further enhancing the guest experience.
