For the traditional Poruwa ceremony, Neelia traveled to London to commission a bespoke sari from Aashni + Co, adorned with an ethereal veil. As the evening progressed, she transformed into a resplendent gold Abhinav Mishra lehenga, complemented by Collado’s elegant silk sherwani.
The bride’s love for Jayanti Reddy’s designs found expression in a vibrant red lehenga, adorned with a blouse in her signature purple hue. The groom, too, embraced Indian fashion, sporting a matching red sherwani for the homecoming ceremony.
Amidst the exquisite Indian attire, Sri Lankan heritage shone through. The bride wore a necklace from her own jewelry label, featuring 412 sapphires and incorporating elements that paid homage to her homeland. To evoke the vibrant spirit of Sri Lankan culture, the homecoming celebration was infused with marigolds. Akushla, the wedding planner, meticulously planted the flowers 11 months in advance, ensuring they would bloom in time for the special day.
