AAP Accuses BJP of Exploiting Swati Maliwal’s Assault Allegations

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is exploiting Swati Maliwal’s alleged assault case at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence for political gain. AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj stated that the BJP is fabricating new conspiracies every day during elections to distract from its own failures.

Bhardwaj accused the BJP of using Maliwal, a Rajya Sabha MP from the AAP, to attack Kejriwal and the party. He claimed that the BJP is desperate to win the upcoming elections and is resorting to underhanded tactics.

Earlier, Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena had said that Maliwal had expressed concerns to him about being coerced by the AAP. Saxena criticized Kejriwal for remaining silent on the matter, saying that his silence speaks volumes about his stance on women’s safety.

Maliwal has accused Kejriwal’s former personal secretary, Bibhav Kumar, of assaulting her at the Chief Minister’s residence. Kumar has filed a counter-complaint, accusing Maliwal of unauthorized entry and verbal abuse.

The AAP has dismissed Kumar’s allegations as false and accused the BJP of orchestrating the entire incident to discredit Kejriwal and the party. The AAP has also demanded an independent inquiry into the matter, claiming that the Delhi Police, which is controlled by the BJP-led central government, cannot be trusted to conduct a fair investigation.
