AAP Leader Bibhav Kumar Detained in Assault Case against Delhi Chief Minister’s Aide

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide, Bibhav Kumar, has been detained by Delhi Police in connection with the alleged assault on AAP MP Swati Maliwal. Kumar was picked up from the chief minister’s residence on Saturday afternoon.

An FIR has been registered in the case, and Kumar has been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including assault, criminal intimidation, and insult to modesty. The incident is said to have taken place on May 13 when Maliwal visited Kejriwal’s residence to meet the chief minister.

Maliwal has alleged that Kumar assaulted her during the visit. The AAP has not yet commented on the incident, but Delhi Police is investigating the matter.

The BJP has criticized the AAP over the incident, with spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla accusing the party of corruption, misconduct, and disinformation. Poonawalla said that the AAP’s standard operating procedure has become one of indulging in this kind of modus operandi.

The incident has raised questions about the security of women in Delhi, and the AAP has been under fire for its handling of the case. The party has been accused of trying to protect Kumar and of not taking the allegations against him seriously.
