AAR CORP., a global leader in aviation services, has secured a significant five-year contract from the U.S. Navy’s Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). Valued at an impressive $1.2 billion, the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract will see AAR providing crucial engine depot maintenance and repairs for the Navy’s P-8A Poseidon aircraft fleet. This award builds upon a recently announced contract where AAR continues to deliver airframe maintenance for the P-8A, reaffirming its vital role in bolstering the U.S. Navy’s operational readiness.
Starting in October 2024, AAR, in partnership with Delta TechOps, will offer comprehensive program management, supply chain management, engineering support, and maintenance services. These services are designed to enhance the availability of engine assets for the growing P-8A Poseidon fleet, which is critical for maritime patrol and reconnaissance missions. This expanded engine maintenance capability will be instrumental in ensuring the Navy’s P-8A aircraft maintain operational status and support national security objectives.
This contract aligns with AAR’s strategic goal of expanding its commercial derivative business by offering integrated maintenance solutions. It is expected to drive substantial growth in AAR’s Part Supply segment through increased engine part sales, further solidifying the company’s standing in the aviation industry. The partnership between AAR and Delta TechOps showcases a shared commitment to innovation, efficiency, and service excellence. Together, they will not only strengthen the U.S. Navy’s operational capabilities but also set new standards for engine maintenance and repair within the aviation sector.
As global defense and aviation needs evolve, AAR’s focus on delivering reliable, high-quality services positions it as a trusted partner in both government and commercial aviation sectors. “AAR’s tailored solutions integrate government and commercial capabilities to provide parts supply, maintenance, and other services to meet customers’ unique mission-critical needs,” said Nicholas Gross, AAR’s Senior Vice President of Integrated Solutions. “We are proud to expand our support of the Navy’s maritime patrol and reconnaissance mission through P-8A maintenance and repair.”
