Abbey Clancy Cringes Over Past Music Career As Band Genie Queen Is Brought Up

Abbey Clancy appeared embarrassed over her previous music career when it was brought up in an interview on Radio X’s ‘The Chris Moyles Show.’ The model and wife of footballer Peter Crouch gained prominence through her modeling career over a decade ago. She had a brief stint as a singer in the band Genie Queen with Anna Ord and Lauren Black around 2004.

During the interview, host Toby Tarrant brought up the band, sparking Abbey’s apparent embarrassment. She initially denied any connection to the group but later confirmed their existence. Tarrant then teased her about the band’s ‘famous discography,’ including the track ‘Finger Licking.’

Abbey expressed shock and amusement as the station played one of the band’s songs, admitting that she had never heard that particular remix before. Reflecting on her earlier aspirations, she shared her desire to be a popstar back then. She also recalled forming Genie Queen while working in a vintage shop in Liverpool, asking interested candidates if they could sing.

Despite an optimistic prediction from the Liverpool Echo at the time, Abbey joked that the publication was mistaken about their potential success. The interview highlighted Abbey’s past music endeavors and her current feelings towards that chapter of her life.
