Abrar Ahmed Serves Famous Tea to Pakistan Cricketers Ahead of New Zealand T20I

Pakistani master spinner Abrar Ahmed, renowned for his extraordinary tea-making skills, found himself reluctantly serving his famous brew to an unexpected group of guests on Tuesday. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared a delightful video on social media that captured the entire tea adventure by the national cricketers ahead of their upcoming match against New Zealand in the 4th T20I at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. In a surprise move, pacer Zaman Khan, batter Usman Khan, and opener Saim Ayub arrived at Abrar’s hotel room and politely demanded a cup of tea each. Abrar, initially taken aback by the uninvited company, had no choice but to go along with their request. Despite Abrar’s pleas to postpone the tea party until the next day, his mates refused to budge. All-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed later joined the gathering. As the players settled in, Abrar inquired about their tea preferences. Zaman Khan jokingly complained that it had been five days since he had indulged in Abrar’s legendary tea. Adding to the humor, Iftikhar Ahmed remarked that the tea appeared to be ‘as sweet and handsome’ as Abrar himself. Saim Ayub, too, dropped a hint of sarcasm, stating that the tea was so good he wanted another cup. In response, Abrar playfully indicated that they could leave if they didn’t appreciate his tea. It’s worth noting that the Pakistan cricket team is currently engaged in a five-match T20I series against New Zealand on home soil. The series is currently tied at 1-1 after three matches, all played in Rawalpindi, with the remaining two games scheduled to take place in Lahore on April 25 and 27. The opening match of the series was washed out due to rain, while Pakistan emerged victorious in the second encounter. However, New Zealand made a strong comeback in the third T20I, leveling the series on Sunday. Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan may miss the remainder of the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand due to a hamstring injury sustained during the third T20I in Rawalpindi. The team management will make a decision on Rizwan’s availability after reviewing the scans. Following the conclusion of the series against New Zealand, the Pakistan team will embark on a tour next month, playing three T20Is against Ireland and four against England away from home. Pakistan’s squad will then depart from England for the United States in preparation for the T20 World Cup. The coaching staff for the Pakistan men’s team will also be announced after the conclusion of the series against New Zealand. According to Geo News, former South African batter Gary Kirsten and ex-Australian pacer Jason Gillespie have been finalized by the PCB for the roles of white-ball and red-ball head coach, respectively, for the national men’s side. Azhar Mahmood was appointed as the head coach of the Pakistan team for the series against New Zealand.
