Actor Aayush Sharma, who made his Bollywood debut in 2018 with ‘Loveyatri’ and is set to star in the upcoming action-thriller ‘Ruslaan’, has spoken out against those who criticize his wife Arpita Khan’s skin colour.
Sharma, who is married to Salman Khan’s sister, recently shared his thoughts on the matter during an interview. He said in Hindi, “Many people comment on her complexion, and I find it amusing. What is the skin colour of the majority of India’s population? Are they all fair? I’m from Himachal, so I have a fair complexion. But what’s wrong if someone has a darker complexion?”
He continued, “Why do people get so upset about skin colour? It’s ironic that we support ‘Black Lives Matter’ in America but make fun of our own people’s skin tone.”
Sharma added, “If you don’t like her complexion, don’t look at her. No one is forcing you to. Who are you to tell someone what to look like? It’s like going to the gym and not working out. It’s her choice.”
On the work front, Sharma will next be seen in ‘Ruslaan’, an action-packed film about a man who rebels against conformity. The film, directed by Karan L Butani, also stars Sushrii Mishraa and Jagapathi Babu, and is set to release on April 26.
