TOD’S has announced that actress Marie Iitoyo will be joining their roster of brand ambassadors as a TOD’S Friend starting September 2024. This follows the appointments of actress Nana Eikura as TOD’S ambassador and actor Keita Machida and volleyball player Yuki Ishikawa as TOD’S Friends.
TOD’S Friends represent the brand’s image and help spread awareness of their timeless, Italian-crafted items and the world of TOD’S. Iitoyo expressed her excitement about the appointment, stating that she has been increasingly involved with TOD’S in recent years and is thrilled to deepen this connection. She recalled a previous collaboration with TOD’S in designing shoes, during which she was deeply impressed by the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship.
Iitoyo shared a personal anecdote about her first encounter with TOD’S: “Looking back, my first encounter with TOD’S was over a decade ago. My grandmother wore these beautiful shoes, and as a child, I always dreamed of wearing them someday. After all this time, the feeling of wearing my first pair of TOD’S loafers, a perfect fit from the moment I put them on, is something I’ll never forget.”
She went on to explain that working on a recent project allowed her to witness the intricate process behind creating each piece, realizing that the meticulous attention to detail by staff and artisans is what allows TOD’S to create timeless, practical, and enduring items.
Iitoyo concluded her statement by saying, “TOD’S has something truly special, a timeless quality that feels counterintuitive in today’s world. I’m eager to learn more about the world of TOD’S as a Friend and share it with everyone. It’s an exciting time for me, and I’m filled with anticipation.”
The Fall/Winter 2024-25 collection by TOD’S features a new creative director, Matteo Tamburini, who has reinterpreted the brand’s iconic moccasins, such as the “Gommini Yorkie” and “Di Bag Folio.” The collection is rich in modern accessories that showcase the brand’s exceptional craftsmanship.
