Aer Lingus has officially launched its long-awaited direct flights from Dublin Airport to Las Vegas, set to commence on October 25, 2024. Operating three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, this new route will run until April 29, 2025. Tickets, inclusive of taxes and charges, are now available for purchase.
Lynne Embleton, Aer Lingus’ Chief Officer, expressed excitement about this new venture, highlighting that flying to Las Vegas has been a long-held ambition for the airline. Steve Hill, President and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, also welcomed the new route, noting that over 52,000 visitors from Ireland traveled to Las Vegas in 2023. The direct flight is expected to boost this number significantly.
Aer Lingus has strategically timed the new route to coincide with key travel periods, including the October mid-term and the 2025 Easter holidays. Irish tour operators such as American Holidays, Tour America, American Sky, and Sunway are expected to create travel packages that combine the direct flights with hotel deals, further promoting tourism.
This new route to Las Vegas is part of a broader transatlantic expansion for Aer Lingus. Recent additions include flights to Denver, Colorado, and Minneapolis-St. Paul in Minnesota, as well as a service to Cleveland, Ohio, and the restart of flights to Hartford, Connecticut. These join existing routes to major cities like New York, Chicago, Boston, LA, Seattle, Orlando, and Miami, bringing the total number of transatlantic services to 19 from Dublin and Shannon, plus three from Manchester to North America and Barbados.
Aer Lingus’ ‘Dub Hub’ strategy aims to develop Dublin as a central hub for travel between Europe and North America, enhancing connectivity and making transatlantic travel more convenient for passengers.
