Air Arabia, the leading low-cost carrier in the Middle East and North Africa, celebrated a milestone on June 28, 2024, with the launch of its inaugural flight connecting Sharjah International Airport to Athens International Airport. This new route marks a significant expansion of Air Arabia’s network, offering passengers from the UAE and beyond more options to explore the rich history and cultural heritage of Greece.
The inaugural ceremony took place at Sharjah International Airport, where Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, was joined by His Excellency Antonis Alexandridis, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the UAE, and other senior management officials and guests. A special welcome ceremony awaited passengers upon their arrival at Athens International Airport, further highlighting the importance of this new connection.
The new route will operate four non-stop weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flight schedule is as follows (all times local):
