Air Canada, a proud presenting partner of the Passeport de Rêve draw, hosted a special event at its Montreal headquarters to celebrate its partnership with Operation Enfant Soleil. The event brought together partners, employees, and representatives from the organization to raise awareness and support for Operation Enfant Soleil’s crucial work.
The event included heartwarming speeches, a special meeting with Liam, the Enfant Soleil for the Lanaudière region, and a presentation of the Passeport de Rêve television commercial. Liam, a young boy who has required extensive medical care since birth, shared his story and expressed his gratitude for the support he has received from Operation Enfant Soleil.
“It is a real privilege to be able to count on dedicated partners like Air Canada, who directly contribute to the great success of the Passeport de rêve Air Canada draw”, said David Archambault, Vice President, Philanthropic Development and Partnership at Opération Enfant Soleil. “Their support allows us to pursue our mission and offer every child the best chance of recovery. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of thousands of Quebec families, so that all children can grow up healthy and thrive, today and tomorrow.”
Air Canada expressed its pride in seeing the positive impact of the funds raised through initiatives like this for children like Liam and their families. “Through our partnerships with pediatric hospitals across Canada we have seen the resilience and strength required of families as they support and advocate for their children. We have a common goal with Opération Enfant Soleil which is the well-being of sick children across Québec,” said Rebecca Smillie Nedelec, Director, Community Engagement at the Air Canada Foundation. “We hope to offer hope, strength, and a sense of resilience to kids and their families as they navigate the day-to-day challenges facing families with a sick child.”
In 2023, the Passeport de Rêve draw raised a record sum of $800,000, thanks to the involvement of all partners and everyone who purchased a ticket. This funding will allow Operation Enfant Soleil to support several vital projects for the well-being of sick children, both in Quebec’s four major paediatric centres and in the province’s regional hospitals.
