Air France recently participated in the IFTM Top Resa trade fair, a major event in the tourism industry, fresh off the excitement of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Held in Paris from September 17 to 19, the trade fair provided Air France with a platform to connect with over 200 existing and potential partners, including travel agencies and corporate clients.
The airline showcased its Bluebiz product, designed to enhance business travel solutions for companies. A key highlight of the event was the unveiling of Air France’s winter schedule for 2024-2025. Henri Hourcade, Senior Vice President France at Air France-KLM, announced that the airline will serve nearly 170 destinations across 73 countries, with five new additions: Kilimanjaro (Tanzania), Salvador de Bahia (Brazil), Manila (Philippines), Malé (Maldives), and Kiruna (Sweden).
This expansion is significant, particularly the addition of Manila, where Air France-KLM will offer daily flights in partnership with KLM, a unique offering in the airline industry. The company is also bolstering its presence in North America, adding Denver and Phoenix to its winter schedule.
Beyond its expanded network, Air France is strengthening its global connectivity through new partnerships. The airline signed a new interline cooperation agreement with Madagascar Airlines, effective October 1, 2024. This follows a recent partnership with SAS, which grants Air France and KLM customers access to 33 new destinations in Northern Europe.
Air France is also focusing on enhancing the travel experience. The airline has introduced enhancements to its Premium class, now simply branded as “Premium.” This update emphasizes the comfort and spaciousness of the cabin, featuring new recliner seats with 4K screens and Bluetooth connectivity. A redesigned in-flight catering menu created by a Michelin-starred chef was also highlighted.
By the end of the year, Air France is set to launch its redesigned La Première cabin, known for being the longest on the market with five windows. This will be complemented by an upgraded ground service at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport.
The IFTM Top Resa event featured a strong presence of Air France-KLM representatives, participating in discussions on topics like the legacy of the Paris 2024 Games, sustainability, and accessible travel. The Air France stand attracted a record number of visitors, offering tastings of onboard gastronomy alongside insights into flight schedules and sales innovations.
Air France also engaged with future talent at the fair, drawing significant interest from students and professors from tourism schools. The airline’s representatives met with over 200 students eager to explore career opportunities in cabin crew and ground handling roles, providing guidance as part of their recruitment initiatives.
Overall, Air France’s presence at the IFTM Top Resa trade fair showcased the airline’s commitment to expanding its global network, enhancing travel experiences, and attracting future talent. The airline continues to position itself as a leading choice for both business and leisure travelers.
