Air India, India’s leading global airline, has taken a significant step forward in its transformation program by introducing its brand-new Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the Delhi-London Heathrow route. This twice-daily service marks the first deployment of the ‘new Air India’ experience on long-haul flights, setting a new standard for luxury travel.
The Air India A350 boasts a fresh three-class configuration designed to elevate the passenger experience. In Business Class, guests can relax in full-flat beds, while Premium Economy offers a new level of comfort with extra legroom and enhanced amenities. Economy Class features the latest generation seats for a comfortable journey.
All passengers will enjoy access to the latest-generation inflight entertainment system, offering over 3,000 hours of content across 13 international and 8 Indian regional languages, including a dedicated section with over 100 hours of entertainment for children. Soon, on-board Wi-Fi will also be available for an even more connected travel experience.
Adding to the luxurious feel, Business and Premium Economy passengers will receive updated amenity kits designed by Ferragamo and TUMI, and enjoy Air India’s new ‘Vista Verve’ soft product, featuring new chinaware, tableware, glassware, and bedding. To complete the premium experience, flight and cabin crew will be sporting their new, stylish uniforms designed by renowned fashion designer Manish Malhotra.
Campbell Wilson, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Air India, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The deployment of the flagship A350s on the Delhi-London Heathrow route marks a significant milestone for Air India. It demonstrates our commitment to elevating the travel experience of our guests to truly world-class standards and to going beyond just meeting customer expectations as we continue to grow and renew our fleet.”
The Air India A350 aircraft is equipped with 28 private suites in Business Class featuring full-flat beds, 24 dedicated Premium Economy seats offering extra legroom and amenities, and 264 spacious Economy seats. Each seat features the latest generation Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system and HD screens, ensuring an immersive entertainment experience for passengers.
To complement the luxurious seating and entertainment options, guests will be treated to delectable cuisine catered to both Indian and international palates. The exquisite collection of chinaware with India-inspired designs adds a touch of cultural richness to the dining experience.
Air India began inducting the A350s earlier this year and has already deployed them on domestic and short-haul international routes. The A350-900 will replace the currently deployed Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on 14 of the 17 weekly flights, resulting in an additional 336 seats available on the Delhi-London Heathrow route each week.
With the introduction of the A350-900 on the Delhi-London Heathrow route, Air India continues to solidify its position as a leading global airline, offering passengers a truly world-class travel experience.
