Air Premia, South Korea’s hybrid airline, has taken a significant step towards improving operational efficiency and reducing its environmental impact by adopting GE Aerospace’s comprehensive software solution. This integrated system comprises three key programs: Fuel Insight, Safety Insight, and the FlightPulse® app.
Fuel Insight, powered by GE Aerospace’s Event Measurement System (EMS), analyzes aircraft data to pinpoint opportunities for optimizing fuel consumption across all operational phases. This intelligent system is projected to deliver a 1.4% annual improvement in fuel efficiency, resulting in a reduction of 5,916 tons of carbon emissions based on Air Premia’s current operations.
Safety Insight, a service-based software solution, meticulously analyzes data received from aircraft to proactively identify potential safety risks and enhance overall operational security. This data-driven approach ensures a safer and more reliable flight experience for passengers and crew.
FlightPulse® is a sophisticated, customizable Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) application that provides pilots with real-time insights into fuel efficiency and flight safety, leveraging data from Fuel Insight and Safety Insight. This valuable information empowers pilots to make informed decisions, understand fuel impacts, and anticipate potential threats, ultimately contributing to a more efficient and secure flight.
Haejihn Lim, the head of Air Premia’s Flight Operations Engineering team, highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating that Air Premia is the first airline in South Korea to implement GE Aerospace’s integrated software solution, encompassing FlightPulse®, Safety Insight, and Fuel Insight. He emphasized that this comprehensive solution will provide crucial insights to help reduce emissions and drive the airline’s overall sustainability goals.
Air Premia’s commitment to sustainability aligns with the global trend towards responsible air travel. By embracing GE Aerospace’s cutting-edge software solutions, Air Premia is demonstrating its dedication to achieving a greener future for aviation.
