AirAsia Launches Direct Flights from Kuala Lumpur to Sihanoukville

On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, AirAsia marked a significant milestone in its international network by launching its inaugural flight from Kuala Lumpur to Sihanoukville, Cambodia. The flight, designated AK 264, departed from Terminal 2 at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 12:10 PM local time and arrived at Sihanoukville International Airport, also known as Kang Keng Airport, at 1:00 PM.

Upon arrival, passengers were warmly welcomed with a traditional Khmer dance performance and greetings from officials representing the Cambodia Airport Authority and the AirAsia Allstars team. This new route signifies a direct connection between the two destinations, offering three weekly flights.

This latest addition to AirAsia’s extensive network further strengthens its presence in Southeast Asia. The airline already operates flights to other Cambodian cities, including Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, and its network extends to over 130 destinations worldwide. These destinations include popular tourist spots in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Australia, accessible through its hubs in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Bangkok, Thailand. The new direct flight between Kuala Lumpur and Sihanoukville provides travelers with a convenient and efficient option for exploring the beautiful coastal destination of Sihanoukville, a popular choice for its beaches and vibrant atmosphere.
