AirAsia Partners with Malaysia-China Summit 2024 as Official Airline Partner

AirAsia has secured the prestigious title of Official Airline Partner for the Malaysia-China Summit 2024 (MCS 2024), a significant event commemorating the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations. This partnership signifies AirAsia’s vital role in providing enhanced accessibility and connectivity for delegates and participants from both China and the broader ASEAN region.

To facilitate convenient travel for summit attendees, AirAsia will offer exclusive travel packages covering flights to key Asian cities such as Hong Kong, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, Bangkok, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, Vientiane, and Manila. The partnership extends beyond air travel, as delegates arriving in Kuala Lumpur will have access to AirAsia Ride for local transportation. Additionally, AirAsia’s renowned Santan meals and special merchandise will be available at the summit, creating a warm and comprehensive Malaysian hospitality experience.

MCS 2024, organized by Qube Integrated (M) Sdn Bhd and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), is slated to be held from December 17th to 19th, 2024, at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre. The summit is expected to attract 500 exhibitors and 10,000 delegates from Malaysia, China, and ASEAN countries. It will comprise a three-day international trade and investment expo accompanied by a two-day Leadership Conference for in-depth discussions and collaborations.

Dato’ Shaharuddin bin Abu Sohot, Deputy Secretary-General (Management) of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, emphasized the pivotal role of partnerships in fostering regional connectivity and cultural exchange. He highlighted the efforts to enhance Malaysia’s infrastructure and attractiveness for business travelers, who contribute significantly to the tourism sector.

Richard Teo, Qube Integrated Executive Chairman and summit organizing chair, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership with AirAsia, recognizing its extensive network and innovative services. He believes this partnership will position Malaysia as the premier destination for business and leisure while showcasing AirAsia’s capabilities beyond leisure travel.

AirAsia Group Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Caroll stated that the partnership underscores their commitment to strengthening ties between Malaysia and China through tourism. AirAsia’s expanded services, including the AirAsia Corporate Travel Programme, cater to the needs of business travelers, further solidifying their role as a leader in the aviation industry.
