The incident led to panic among passengers, with some crying and struggling to breathe. According to a passenger who spoke to Nine News, 17 people were removed from the flight. A spokesperson for Perth airport confirmed that the passengers had voluntarily disembarked due to ‘technical issues’ and that the flight had departed approximately an hour late.
