Airport City Expansion: BACL Unveils Plans for Business Park, Combo Hotel, Concert Arena, and More

In a significant development, Bengaluru Airport City Limited (BACL) has announced plans to transform Airport City into a bustling hub for businesses, knowledge-intensive zones, R&D centers, and Global Capability Centers. This ambitious project includes the construction of a two million square feet Business Park, a 775-room Combo Hotel, and a state-of-the-art Concert Arena. The Business Park will be a biophilic-inspired development that seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a dynamic environment that nurtures innovation and collaboration. Its standout feature, the Urban Forest, will be a lush green oasis that serves as a focal point for the entire complex. The Business Park will also benefit from the upcoming Metro station in Airport City, providing convenient connectivity from the northern side.

The Combo Hotel is set to become one of India’s largest hospitality establishments, featuring 775 rooms under the Vivanta and Ginger brands. Expected to be completed by the end of 2026, it will enhance Airport City’s reputation as a premier destination for both business travelers and tourists. The hotel’s design philosophy emphasizes sustainability and occupant well-being, ensuring a comfortable experience for guests.

Airport City’s entertainment offerings are also expanding with the addition of the Concert Arena, the first of its kind within an airport ecosystem in India. This groundbreaking venue will have a capacity of 10,000 attendees and will host a variety of events and concerts. The Concert Arena will further enhance Airport City’s reputation as a premier destination for entertainment and cultural gatherings.

In addition to these new facilities, Airport City has also seen the establishment of a 3D printing facility in collaboration with Voxeljet Germany and a Central Kitchen by SATS Singapore, which is capable of producing up to 170,000 ready-to-eat meals daily.

BACL’s commitment to sustainability has earned the company the Indian Green Building Council’s (IGBC) Green Cities Platinum certification. The development of Airport City adheres to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, promoting mixed-use development to ensure inclusivity, safety, resilience, and sustainability.
