This thrilling expansion will be available exclusively to owners of the Deluxe Edition or those who opt for the new physical Deluxe Edition, which will become available alongside the DLC’s launch.
Sam Lake, the creative mastermind behind Alan Wake, took center stage at Summer Games Fest to unveil a tantalizing glimpse of Night Springs and announce its imminent arrival. This captivating DLC will comprise three distinct episodes, each featuring a unique cast of characters entangled in perplexing situations. The enigmatic cast includes Rose Merigold, a waitress and devoted Alan Wake fan; Sean Ashmore, a renowned actor; and Jesse Fadyen, the enigmatic protagonist from Control.
While gameplay footage was presented in brief snippets, it’s evident that Night Springs remains faithful to the game’s core survival-horror mechanics and ethereal atmosphere. Players will navigate treacherous environments, unraveling the mysteries that lie within Night Springs.
Initially slated for a spring release, Night Springs will now grace PlayStation 5 consoles on June 8th. It marks the first of two planned expansions for Alan Wake 2, with The Lakehouse expansion set to follow later this year. While Night Springs focuses on the titular show within the Alan Wake universe, The Lakehouse will shift the focus to a research facility of the same name situated on the shores of Cauldron Lake. Intriguingly, this facility is said to be owned by the enigmatic Federal Bureau of Control. This connection raises the possibility that Jesse Fadyen’s involvement in the first DLC could foreshadow her role in the events of The Lakehouse, given her position as the current director of the FBC.
