Alaska Airlines Expands International Network with New Flights to Mexico

Alaska Airlines is expanding its international network this winter with the launch of new routes to two vibrant Mexican destinations: La Paz and Monterrey. Starting in November 2024, Alaska Airlines will be the only U.S. carrier to offer nonstop flights from Los Angeles to La Paz, a coastal gem in Baja California Sur. This tranquil city is known for its world-class diving and sport fishing, offering stunning natural beauty and a serene escape.

Additionally, in February 2025, Alaska Airlines will begin daily nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Monterrey, Mexico’s bustling industrial and cultural hub. Monterrey, Mexico’s second-largest metro area, is renowned for its dramatic mountain landscapes and vibrant food scene. This new route provides travelers with a gateway to experience the dynamic city’s unique blend of modern life and natural beauty.

As winter approaches, travelers often seek warm-weather destinations, and Alaska Airlines is catering to this demand with its new nonstop services. Tickets for these new routes are available starting July 3 on alaskaair.com.

Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning at Alaska Airlines, expressed excitement about the expansion. “We recently celebrated 35 years of service to Mexico and are proud to connect travelers with the rich culture and natural beauty of the country. We look forward to continuing to serve as the carrier of choice from the West Coast, especially as we prepare to start service to these popular destinations in Mexico.”

Maribel Collins, minister of tourism and economy of Baja California Sur, praised the new service, stating, “We appreciate Alaska Airlines’ confidence in investing in the virtues of La Paz and providing it with the opportunity to expand its borders by connecting with the United States.”

Ricardo Dueñas, CEO of Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte, highlighted the significance of the new Monterrey route, stating, “Through LAX, this new route will offer access to new destinations on the West Coast, as we continue to increase international connectivity from Monterrey to meet both business and leisure travel demand.”

Alaska Airlines offers a premium travel experience on all flights, featuring no change fees, the most legroom in First Class and Premium Class, and a generous Mileage Plan. Guests can enjoy high-quality West Coast-inspired food and a premium selection of beverages.

Additionally, Alaska Airlines provides seamless travel planning with its Alaska Vacations package, offering bundled flights, hotels, car rentals, and experiences.

The airline is known for its award-winning customer service and industry-leading loyalty program, Mileage Plan.
