Aldi Ditches Click and Collect Service

Aldi, the discount retail giant, is making a significant change to its shopping services. Effective this Sunday, the retailer will be axing its popular click and collect service at 174 locations across the UK.

Aldi’s decision to end click and collect comes after a trial period last year where the service was discontinued at select stores. The retailer has explained that the move is part of its commitment to maintaining efficiency and keeping prices low. In a statement, Aldi said, “At Aldi, our focus is on providing customers with high-quality products at the lowest possible prices. One of the ways we keep our prices low for customers is by running the most efficient supermarket business in Britain. As a result, we’ve made the decision to bring our Click and Collect service to an end so we can focus on doing just that.”

This decision comes at a time when Aldi has been recognized as the cheapest supermarket in the UK, beating out major competitors like Lidl, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, and Sainsbury’s, according to consumer magazine Which?. This achievement further highlights the retailer’s focus on maintaining competitive pricing.

While Aldi is eliminating click and collect, shoppers can still opt for delivery services offered by other major retailers, including schemes that can save up to £208 a year on deliveries. Shoppers have just three days left to place click and collect orders before the service ends this Sunday.
