Aldi Issues ‘Do Not Eat’ Alert for Tortilla Wraps Amid Tampering Concerns
Aldi has issued a ‘do not eat’ alert for a batch of Village Bakery 8 Tortilla Wraps White sold in its stores. The recall was triggered by concerns that the wraps may have been tampered with, potentially containing metal.
The recall affects products with a best before date of April 29, 2024. Aldi is urging customers who have purchased the affected wraps to return them to the store for a full refund.
Police Investigation Ongoing
Warning posters have been displayed in Aldi stores that stock the wraps, advising customers not to consume them. The supermarket also stated that the recall is linked to an active police investigation.
Aldi’s statement reads: ‘All our products go through rigorous safety and quality checks. We are recalling this product as a precautionary measure. As there is an active police investigation, we are not able to comment any further on this matter at this time.’
