Aldi has issued an urgent ‘do not eat’ warning and is recalling two of its popular soup products: Soupreme Creamy Chicken Soup and Specially Selected Pea and Ham Hock Soup. The recall comes after it was discovered that these soups may contain peanuts, which are not listed on the product labels. This poses a potential health risk for individuals with peanut allergies, as consuming these products could trigger a severe allergic reaction.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has advised Aldi to contact relevant allergy support organizations to inform their members about the recall. Aldi has also issued a statement explaining the recall and urging customers to return the affected products to their nearest store for a full refund.
The recalled products are:
*
Soupreme Creamy Chicken Soup:
* Pack Size: 600g
* Bar Code: 4061462599842
* Best Before: October 1, 2024
*
Specially Selected Pea and Ham Hock Soup:
* Pack Size: 600g
* Best Before: September 28, 2024
Aldi has apologized for the oversight and emphasizes that this is not in line with their usual high standards. They encourage customers to visit their website (help.alidi.co.uk) or contact their customer service line (0800 042 0800) for any further information.
In a separate incident, Harvey Nichols is also recalling its Harvey Nichols Lustrous Hazelnuts in Dark Chocolate due to the presence of undeclared milk. This recall was initially issued in July, but customers should still check their pantry for any products with the following details:
*
Harvey Nichols Lustrous Hazelnuts:
* Pack Size: 175g
* Batch Codes: 231012, 231017, 230926 and 240228
* Best Before: September 30, 2024 and October 30, 2024
If you have any of these products and have a peanut or milk allergy, please do not consume them. Instead, return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
