Shoppers are sprinting to their nearest Aldi store to get their hands on a £4.99 buy that will instantly brighten up their garden. One bargain hunter was left open-mouthed when browsing the middle aisle of her local Aldi and spotted the affordable and stylish plant pots. Thrilled with her finds, Melissa Purnell took to social media to alert other shoppers. Posting on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, a private Facebook group with a whopping 2.4 million members, Melissa shared a snap of her purchases – two green garden pots. Alongside the post, the Aldi fan beamed: “Aldi Specialbuys plastic olive planters £7.99 and £4.99. “They had green, grey and blue.” Melissa was lucky enough to nab two of the different sized lightweight, ceramic look planters. These planters are sure to make your plants and flowers look that extra bit more stunning and will add colour and texture to any outside space. The pots are available in the small size of 30 x 30cm and a larger size of 36 x 36cm, but are only available to buy in stores only, and are while stocks last. Thrilled with her finds, Melissa later claimed: “I’m going back for more.” But you’ll need to move fast if you want to get your hands on these bargain buys, as we’ve seen time and time again with Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone! Melissa’s post had clearly impressed many, as it had quickly amassed over 150 likes and 70 comments. Social media users were stunned at the planters and many took to the comments to express this. WHEN it comes to shopping at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy. For reduced items – when shops open Red sticker items are rare at Aldi’s 830 UK stores, but the supermarket says that none of its food goes to waste so there are some to be found – if you’re quick. A spokesman for the supermarket said: “All items are reduced to 50 per cent of the recommend sales price before stores open on their best before or use by dates.” That means you have the best chance of finding reduced food items if you go into stores as soon as it opens. Opening times vary by shop but a majority open from 7am or 8am. You can find your nearest store’s times by using the supermarket’s online shop finder tool. For Specialbuys – Thursdays and Sundays Specialbuys are Aldi’s weekly collection of items that it doesn’t normally sell, which can range from pizza ovens to power tools. New stock comes into stores every Thursday and Sunday, so naturally, these are the best days to visit for the best one-off special deals. For an even better chance of bagging the best items, head there for your local store’s opening time. You don’t have to head into stores to bag a Specialbuy, though. They also go on sale online, usually at midnight on Thursday and Sunday, and you can pre-order them up to a week in advance. As long as you spend at least £25, you’ll get the items delivered for free. Remember: once they’re gone, they’re gone, so if there’s something you really want, visit as early as possible One person tagged a family member and said: “These are beautiful!! See if you can get to Aldi this weekend.” Another added: “Love them!” A third commented: “They’re lovely.” At the same time, many gardening enthusiasts revealed that they too have already got their hands on these bargain buys. One Aldi shopper explained: “Couldn’t believe the price. Look so much more. I bought a small grey one. Nice size.” A second chimed in: “I got two small ones today, hope they still have them next week. I might get another two.” Whilst someone else beamed: “I bought three today.”
