Alec Baldwin became physically involved with an anti-Israel agitator who persistently urged him to proclaim, “Free Palestine,” at a New York City coffee shop on University Place called Maman. Footage obtained by Page Six shows the former “30 Rock” star beckoning a male employee of Maman to call the police as the woman known online as Crackhead Barney continued to berate him. The performance artist pressed Baldwin, 66, about his alleged involvement in the fatal 2021 shooting of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, despite special prosecutors dismissing an involuntary manslaughter charge against the actor in April 2023. Baldwin has continually denied any wrongdoing. The incident occurred when the woman approached Baldwin, demanding he publicly declare support for “Free Palestine” and accusing him of evading jail time for killing Hutchins. Baldwin repeatedly motioned for the woman to leave the shop before eventually slapping her phone from her hand. Photographs acquired by Page Six also depict Baldwin engaged in an active struggle with the woman, who was clad in red shorts and a white bra, before she exited the coffee shop and proceeded down the street. Baldwin’s representative has yet to respond to Page Six’s request for comment. This is not the first time Baldwin has encountered anti-Israel protesters. In December, he was confronted by a group demanding to know his stance on the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine. Baldwin responded by expressing his support for peace in Gaza. A source close to Baldwin claims he was attending an acting class in the area and had no intention of engaging with the protesters but was aggressively approached and harassed. The police intervened to prevent further escalation.
