Actor Alec Baldwin has been embroiled in another controversy after an individual began filming him without his permission and repeatedly asked him to declare ‘Free Palestine.’ Baldwin refused and requested that the person leave the premises, but they declined. In response, Baldwin appeared to confiscate the individual’s mobile phone and ‘hit’ it, presumably to halt the recording. Aside from the visible slap, no further action was taken.
Baldwin has opted to remain silent and avoid issuing any public statements regarding the incident, which has garnered widespread international attention. This comes on the heels of another altercation he had on the streets months prior. When confronted by an individual asking if he supported Israel, Baldwin responded, ‘No, I support peace for Gaza.’ The individual persisted, ‘You work in Hollywood, so do you condemn Israel?’ leading to Baldwin’s outburst, ‘Are you asking me this because I’m in Hollywood? You ask stupid questions. Ask me an intelligent question.’
