Alec Baldwin was involved in a physical altercation with an anti-Israel activist identified as “Crackhead Barney” at a New York City coffee shop on Monday. The incident began when Barney, known for her confrontational public performances and ambush-style interviews, approached Baldwin and repeatedly demanded he say “Free Palestine” while he was on the phone and waiting for his order. When Baldwin ignored her and attempted to leave, Barney followed him, shouting “F–k Israel, f–k Zionism.” She also accused Baldwin of killing a woman, referring to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of his movie “Rust.”
Baldwin eventually managed to push Barney out of the coffee shop and bolted the door behind her. However, she continued to harass him outside, accusing him of assault and calling random passersby “racists” and “Zionist bitches.” The incident was captured on video by Barney and posted online.
This is not the first time Baldwin has been targeted by anti-Israel demonstrators. In December, he was surrounded by protesters on a sidewalk who demanded to know whether he condemned Israel’s response to a Hamas attack. Baldwin refused to address Israel and instead said, “I support peace for Gaza.”
Crackhead Barney has a significant following on social media, with nearly 100,000 followers on Instagram. Her recent videos largely consist of her swearing at cops and telling pro-Israel demonstrators that hostages kidnapped by Hamas “are not coming home.”
The incident highlights the ongoing tensions between Israel and its critics, as well as the growing trend of confrontational activism and online harassment. It remains to be seen whether Baldwin will face any legal action over the altercation with Barney.
