Alvaro Morata has made a move to Serie A, joining AC Milan on a four-year contract. The Spanish striker arrives from La Liga side Atletico Madrid, with the transfer fee reportedly triggering his release clause, which was around 13 million euros. Neither Milan nor Atletico have disclosed the financial details of the deal.
The 31-year-old, who captained Spain to victory in the European Championship just last Sunday, brings a wealth of experience and a decorated trophy cabinet to the Italian side. Morata began his career at Real Madrid, winning the Champions League, La Liga, and Copa del Rey twice each, along with the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup. He then moved to Juventus in 2014, adding two Serie A titles and three Coppa Italia wins to his collection. Following a spell at Chelsea, where he secured a Europa League and FA Cup title, Morata returned to Atletico Madrid in 2019. In his four years with the Spanish club, he scored 58 goals in 154 appearances.
Morata’s move to Milan is a significant acquisition for the Italian club. He joins a squad that finished second in Serie A last season, and his experience and goal-scoring ability could be crucial in their pursuit of a title challenge. The Spanish striker will be looking to add to his impressive collection of trophies in his new surroundings.
