Aman Sehrawat Wins Bronze at Paris Olympics, Becomes Youngest Indian Individual Medalist

India’s Aman Sehrawat has etched his name in the history books by winning a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. In a thrilling match at the Champ de Mars, the 21-year-old wrestler triumphed over Puerto Rico’s Darian Toi Cruz, securing victory with a score of 13-5 in the men’s 57kg category. This momentous win makes Sehrawat the youngest Indian to claim an individual Olympic medal at the Summer Games, surpassing the previous record held by badminton star PV Sindhu. Sindhu’s silver medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016 was achieved at the age of 21 years, 1 month, and 14 days. Before Sehrawat, the youngest Indian male to secure an Olympic medal was boxer Vijender Singh, who won bronze in the men’s middleweight category at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 at the age of 22 years, 9 months, and 24 days. Sehrawat’s remarkable achievement is a testament to his dedication and talent, setting a new standard for young Indian athletes on the global stage.
