Amazon India to Launch Quick Commerce Service in 2025

Amazon’s Indian unit is making a strategic move to strengthen its position in the rapidly growing quick commerce sector by launching its own quick commerce service in 2025. According to a report by the Economic Times, the service will guarantee delivery in less than an hour, initially launching in select cities before expanding nationwide.

This move is a direct response to the growing popularity of quick commerce services in India, with rivals like Walmart-backed Flipkart’s ‘Minutes’ already established in the market. Amazon has appointed Nishant Sardana, previously responsible for the PC, audio, camera and large appliances business at Amazon India, to lead the quick commerce initiative, demonstrating the company’s commitment to this sector.

Amazon’s entry into the quick commerce market will intensify competition against existing players like Zomato’s Blinkit and BigBasket’s BB Now. The company is also reportedly in talks with Swiggy about a potential stake acquisition in Instamart, Swiggy’s quick service platform.

This move underscores Amazon’s ambition to dominate the Indian e-commerce landscape and capture a significant share of the booming quick commerce market. The launch of this service is expected to significantly impact the Indian retail sector and provide consumers with even more convenient and fast delivery options.
