Ambani Family Welcomes Lord Ganesh at Antilia, Anant Gifts Gold Crown to Lalbaugcha Raja

The Ambani family marked the beginning of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations with a grand welcome for Lord Ganesh at their iconic south Mumbai residence, Antilia. On Friday evening, Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, along with his wife Nita Ambani and children Isha, Akash, and Anant, participated in the traditional ritual of bringing the idol home. The family has been observing this tradition for several years, showcasing their devotion to the deity.

The festivities were marked by chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya” as the family welcomed the idol. Mukesh Ambani held one of his daughter Isha’s twins while Anant Ambani and his wife Radhika Merchant joined in the welcoming ceremony. The idol is affectionately known as “Antilia cha Raja” within the family.

Beyond the Ambani household, Ganesh Chaturthi festivities are also in full swing across Mumbai. In a gesture of reverence and generosity, Anant Ambani and the Reliance Foundation presented a magnificent gold crown to the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh idol in Mumbai. The crown, weighing 20 kilograms, is valued at ₹15 crore.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, Lalbaugcha Raja, known as “Lalbagh kay Raja,” will be brought to Delhi for the celebration. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari announced the news, highlighting the tradition of bringing the idol to Delhi since 2015. He stated that the event will be held at the DDA Ground in Burari, with a pandal designed to accommodate approximately 500,000 people.

Ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi, Nita Ambani extended greetings for the festival at an event held at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). Mukesh Ambani, Anant Ambani, and Radhika Merchant were also present at the event.

To ensure safety and security during the ten-day Ganesh festival, Mumbai city authorities are deploying approximately 15,000 police personnel. Senior officials will oversee the security arrangements to ensure a smooth and peaceful celebration. The vibrant energy of Ganesh Chaturthi is palpable throughout the city, with festivities that bring together people from all walks of life.
