Ambati Rayudu’s India Squad for T20 World Cup: Experience and Promise Blend

Former Indian batsman Ambati Rayudu has unveiled his Team India squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, showcasing a blend of seasoned performers and emerging talents. Rayudu, who is currently part of the Star Sports expert panel, has included a combination of experience and current form in his selections.

Rayudu’s squad features a solitary all-rounder in Ravindra Jadeja, while young pace sensation Mayank Yadav, who is currently nursing an injury, has also been included. The T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place from June 2 to 29 in the USA and West Indies, with the BCCI expected to announce the official Indian squad before the end of the month.

For the middle-order batting slots, Rayudu has opted for in-form players Riyan Parag and Shivam Dube. He has also preferred veteran Dinesh Karthik over Rishabh Pant for the wicketkeeper-batter role, overlooking KL Rahul, who has been in good form for Lucknow Super Giants in the same role. Rinku Singh has been included as the designated finisher alongside Karthik.

The top order of Rayudu’s squad features Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav. Hardik Pandya’s lack of form has resulted in his omission, leaving Jadeja as the lone all-rounder, as Dube has not been regularly asked to bowl by Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.

Jasprit Bumrah leads the pace attack, which also includes Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, and an injured Mayank Yadav. Besides left-arm spin all-rounder Jadeja, chinaman Kuldeep Yadav and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal are the designated spinners in Rayudu’s squad.
