AMD’s new Zen 5-based Ryzen 9000 series CPUs have arrived, but the accompanying high-end X870E motherboards are still under wraps. However, the wait is almost over! AMD has officially announced that the release date for these coveted motherboards is set for September 30th.
The news of the September 30th launch comes from Kenny on the Bilibili forums. Kenny, who recently received an ASUS ROG STRIX X870E-E GAMING WIFI motherboard, shared that he is allowed to unveil his experience with the board on September 30th.
Kenny stated, “The newly launched X870 series motherboards for AMD Ryzen 9000 series processors are finally available. According to the official time specified by AMD, the motherboard can only be unboxed and basic specifications introduced without lighting on August 20, 2024. The official user experience sharing will be released on September 30, 2024”.
While the official unveiling of the X870E and X870 motherboards is still a few weeks away, we can expect to see launch events and product reveals towards the end of September.
While the X870 chipset doesn’t boast dramatic upgrades, it does offer a noteworthy feature: native support for USB4. The ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING Wi-Fi motherboard boasts 2 x USB4 connections on the rear panel, each delivering impressive 40Gbps of bandwidth. This means users can enjoy blazing-fast data transfer speeds and enhanced connectivity options.
Stay tuned for the official launch of AMD’s X870E and X870 motherboards on September 30th, where we can expect to learn more about their features, performance, and availability.
