American Airlines Teams Excel in Aerospace Maintenance Council Competition

The annual Aerospace Maintenance Council Competition in Chicago attracted 90 teams of AMTs from various sectors, competing in 27 challenges emphasizing speed, precision, and safety. American Airlines sponsored six teams, with Team Tulsa triumphing in the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul / Original Equipment Manufacturer category and individual events. American Airlines – Chicago excelled in Simulated Spacecraft Vacuum Loading, Antenna Testing, and Wing Sealant categories. Demonstrating its commitment to nurturing future talent, the airline supported three student teams from Aviation Institute of Maintenance – Chicago, George T. Baker Aviation Technical College in Miami, and West Los Angeles College. Guided by American AMTs, the student teams benefited from mentorship and achieved remarkable results. American offers interviews and scholarship opportunities to students who participate in these teams upon graduation and attainment of their FAA airframe and powerplant licenses.
