American Horror Story: Delicate Finale Disappoints Fans with Rushed Ending

The highly anticipated finale of American Horror Story: Delicate has left fans furious, with many expressing disappointment over its short runtime and unsatisfying conclusion. The season, which premiered on September 20, 2023, faced delays due to industry strikes and returned in April 2024 for its final four episodes.

The finale, titled “The Auteur,” aired on April 24 and left viewers bewildered. The episode ended abruptly, with approximately 10 minutes remaining in the hour, and FX aired a commercial before the closing credits, leading viewers to believe that more content was to come.

Fans took to social media to express their frustration, with one viewer calling the finale “the worst in the history of AHS.” Another commented, “After all that build-up, she says one sentence and everything is back to normal?”

The episode featured Anna Victoria Alcott (played by Emma Roberts) facing a kidnapping by a cult led by Siobhan Corbyn (played by Kim Kardashian) during her childbirth. The cult demanded that Anna join their ranks to hold her child, forcing her to accept their terms. In a bizarre twist, her husband’s late ex-wife, a former cult member, appears and joins Anna in a chant that vanquishes the cult leader. The episode concludes with Anna donning the headdress worn by other cult members.

The finale left many questions unanswered and failed to provide closure for fans, who had eagerly anticipated the conclusion of the season. The uneven pacing and lackluster ending have led to the season being ranked among the lower-rated installments in the American Horror Story franchise.
