Amit Shah Attacks Bengal Corruption, Vows BJP Victory

Addressing a rally in Raiganj, Shah launched a scathing attack on the ruling TMC government’s alleged corruption. He cited the recent court verdict, which scrapped thousands of school appointments due to bribery, as evidence of rampant malpractice. Shah alleged that Rs 51 crore was seized from the residence of Minister Partha Chatterjee, who remains behind bars yet to be suspended from the party. He accused the TMC of embezzling funds sent by the Centre for various schemes, claiming that the benefits never reached the intended beneficiaries. Shah’s speech was particularly critical of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, whom he accused of allowing atrocities in Sandeshkhali to secure her vote bank.

Shah also touched upon the issue of infiltration, alleging that the Bengal government was allowing it while opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). He expressed support for granting citizenship to Hindus and Buddhists from Bangladesh and criticized Banerjee’s stance on the matter.

The Union Home Minister highlighted the pro-poor measures undertaken by the Centre, such as providing free ration to 80 crore people, constructing toilets for 12 crore households, and distributing free LPG connections to 10 crore people. Shah contrasted the Centre’s efforts with Banerjee’s alleged failure to utilize the funds allocated to Bengal, accusing her of misappropriation.

Shah also addressed the lack of AIIMS in North Bengal, promising to establish one if BJP wins all three seats in the region. He urged the people to connect Bihar and Raiganj for enhanced economic development and expressed his support for BJP candidate Sreerupa Mitra Chowdhury in the Malda constituency.

Overall, Shah’s speech was a blistering attack on the TMC government’s alleged corruption and mismanagement. He vowed that BJP would bring about change and restore accountability, promising various developmental initiatives if elected to power.
