While addressing a rally in Maharashtra’s Akola, Shah emphasized that the BJP government has never scrapped reservations and instead has used its majority to abolish Article 370, end triple talaq, combat terrorism, and pass the CAA.
Shah condemned the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government for its inaction against Pakistan-backed terror attacks due to its concerns for its vote bank. He highlighted that unlike the UPA, the BJP government under Prime Minister Modi has responded decisively with surgical and air strikes following the Uri and Pulwama attacks.
Shah lauded the BJP’s efforts in addressing Naxalism in Maharashtra and credited Prime Minister Modi with elevating India’s economy from 11th to 5th position globally, with further growth expected. The Union Home Minister was campaigning for BJP candidate Anup Dhotre in Akola, where the party faces a three-way contest with Prakash Ambedkar of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi and Congress’s Abhay Patil.
