Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, accompanied by his son Abhishek Bachchan, was honored with the prestigious Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award on Wednesday, April 24, in Mumbai. The father-son duo paid their respects to the late legendary singer, Lata Mangeshkar, with Amitabh bowing down before her portrait and Abhishek joining him.
Abhishek’s polite rejection of a stage seat and insistence on sitting with the audience garnered praise for his respect for elders. After the event, Abhishek ensured his father’s safe passage to his car, clearing a path through the crowd. The heartwarming gesture was captured on video and shared widely on social media.
Usha Mangeshkar presented the award to Amitabh Bachchan in honor of Deenanath Mangeshkar, the father of the Mangeshkar siblings. AR Rahman was also recognized at the event. Amitabh Bachchan’s upcoming project is Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ for which a teaser was recently released.
