Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant, are set to tie the knot in a grand wedding ceremony in Mumbai on July 12. The Ambani family is currently in the midst of elaborate wedding preparations, with several pre-wedding events already taking place.
One such event was a mass wedding for the underprivileged, organised by the Ambanis. Initially scheduled at Swami Vivekanand Vidyamandir in Palghar on July 2, the venue was changed to Reliance Corporate Park in Thane, where the event will now take place on Tuesday at 4 PM.
The wedding celebrations kicked off on June 29 with a private puja ceremony at the Ambanis’ home, Antilia. A visitor who witnessed the ceremony described the lavish invitation, featuring an intricate embroidery of Vaikuntha, the abode of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, and an orange box adorned with a picture of Lord Vishnu. The box, upon opening, plays a Vishnu mantra, creating a spiritual atmosphere. The wedding invitations are housed in a golden book with detachable frames of Lord Ganesha and Radha Krishna. To further personalize the invitation, the Ambani family included a handwritten note for each guest, a beautiful ‘travel mandir,’ and a handcrafted pashmina scarf from Kashmir.
The couple has already celebrated two pre-wedding events, showcasing the grandeur and festivities planned for the wedding. The first was an extravagant cruise celebration starting on May 29 in Italy and ending on June 1 in France. Prior to this, a lavish pre-wedding extravaganza in Jamnagar in March drew approximately 1,000 guests, including celebrities, athletes, and businesspeople.
The wedding ceremony, known as ‘Shubh Vivah’, will take place on Friday, July 12, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai. Guests are encouraged to dress in traditional Indian attire to fully embrace the spirit of the occasion. The festivities will culminate on Saturday, July 13, with ‘Shubh Aashirwad’. The final event, ‘Mangal Utsav’ or the wedding reception, is scheduled for Sunday, July 14, with guests requested to dress in ‘Indian chic’.
