Anantara Golden Triangle Unveils Canopy: A Treetop Dining Experience in Northern Thailand

Nestled amidst the lush jungles of Northern Thailand, the Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort has unveiled a groundbreaking dining experience – Canopy. This innovative concept reflects the resort’s commitment to sustainability and showcasing the vibrant flavors of the region.

Perched 52 meters above the savannah, Canopy is a unique dining capsule with open sides, providing breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of the Golden Triangle. The capsule’s design draws inspiration from nearby beehives, incorporating natural materials and muted colors to create a serene sanctuary. Immersed in the tranquility of the forest, guests can enjoy the calming sounds of nature and the serene vista of the surrounding landscape.

As dawn breaks, adventurous diners can witness the awakening wildlife below, including the majestic elephants from the adjacent camp. The lunchtime experience invites guests to delve into the local cuisine as the jungle buzzes with activity. And at twilight, the capsule transforms into a magical spot for evening drinks, bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun.

Canopy offers all-day tasting menus served in eco-friendly Pinto containers, artfully combining savory and sweet flavors. The Mekong Discovery menu celebrates the region’s culinary traditions with dishes like Laotian riverweed with tangy yellowfin tuna larb and Chiang Rai’s spiced pork on toasted rice.

The Culinary Adventure menu merges Eastern traditions with Western creativity, featuring dishes such as succulent wagyu short ribs on homemade bread rolls, a Phuket lobster wrap with regional avocados, baked figs from Royal Projects in crème brûlée, and local strawberries with mint in choux pastry.

The Gourmet Odyssey menu transforms local dishes into luxurious feasts with premium ingredients like wagyu M5 beef, king scallops, and Royal Projects caviar, complemented by desserts such as kaffir lime financier, rose and pumpkin mousse, and a burnt coconut crème brûlée.

Executive Chef Pisit ‘Jino’ Jinopong explains, “At the heart of the Anantara Golden Triangle experience is a profound connection with the environment, whether through daily interactions with our rescue elephants, jungle trekking, or dining. Canopy is a testament to our care for ecological mindfulness, providing guests a space to engage with the natural world in an intimate and nourishing manner.”

Canopy’s tasting menus begin at THB 14,000 per couple. The unique dining capsule is open from 7:00 am to 11:30 am for breakfast, 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm for lunch, and from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm for evening sundowners.
