In a recent announcement, Alphabet, the parent company of Google, appointed Anat Ashkenazi as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This move comes as the tech giant continues to navigate the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence (AI).
Ashkenazi, 51, is a seasoned executive with over two decades of experience in finance, strategy, and operations. Prior to joining Google, she served as Executive Vice President and CFO at Eli Lilly and Company for 23 years. During her tenure at Eli Lilly, she held various leadership positions, including CFO for several global divisions.
Ashkenazi’s appointment is seen as a strategic move by Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google. Pichai expressed his enthusiasm about her joining the company, highlighting the company’s commitment to innovation and growth in the age of AI. “The AI era presents us with immense opportunities,” said Pichai. “We are thrilled to have Anat join our team as we responsibly invest for the future of our company.”
Ashkenazi holds an MBA from Tel Aviv University and a BA in economics and business administration from the Hebrew University. She will be based in the Bay Area and will report directly to Pichai. Her appointment is expected to bolster Google’s financial leadership and support its long-term growth trajectory.
