ANGEL’S ENVY and Arbor Day Foundation Celebrate 10 Years of Planting Trees

ANGEL’S ENVY, a renowned whiskey producer, and the Arbor Day Foundation, a leading tree-planting organization, are celebrating a decade of their impactful partnership with the annual ‘Toast the Trees’ initiative. Since its inception in 2014, the program has planted over 311,000 White Oak trees, a crucial species for the bourbon industry and overall environmental health.

According to estimates provided by the Arbor Day Foundation, these trees are projected to have a significant positive impact over the next 40 years. They will help avoid 17.5 million gallons of water runoff, sequester 135,000 metric tons of CO2, and remove 428 tons of air pollutants. These benefits translate to providing clean water for 213,710 people for a day, sequestering a significant amount of carbon, and filtering enough air to provide breathable oxygen for over 1.2 million people for a day.

The partnership goes beyond replenishing White Oak forests. ANGEL’S ENVY actively supports urban tree canopy restoration, recognizing the vital role trees play in urban ecosystems. In Kentucky alone, over 40,000 trees have been planted across 62 acres, leaving a lasting impact on the state’s vital habitat.

Gigi DaDan, General Manager of ANGEL’S ENVY, highlighted the importance of the partnership, stating, “Working with the Arbor Day Foundation on the Toast the Trees initiative has been a remarkable journey. We’ve supported the bourbon industry’s need for a healthy White Oak population and helped local communities in dire need of trees through our Urban Canopy restoration efforts. This program reflects our pride in being an American Whiskey brand made in the heart of downtown Louisville.”

Dan Lambe, Chief Executive of the Arbor Day Foundation, emphasized the transformative power of trees. “For more than a decade, ANGEL’S ENVY has shown a deep commitment to the transformative power of trees. Through our partnership, we’ve witnessed firsthand how trees can drive positive change, from revitalizing forests to enhancing urban communities.”

As the program enters its 11th year, ANGEL’S ENVY will continue to support reforestation efforts and urban tree planting initiatives. They encourage supporters to donate to the Arbor Day Foundation and actively participate in the program. In 2023, the program expanded its scope to include urban tree canopy restoration efforts. This year, tree plantings will continue in various cities across the United States, including Jacksonville, FL; Kansas City, MO; Louisville, KY; Nashville, TN; Indianapolis, IN; Denver, CO; Sacramento, CA; Charleston, SC; New York, NY; and Phoenix, AZ, throughout the fall.

This partnership serves as a shining example of how businesses and non-profits can collaborate to create a positive impact on the environment, ensuring a more sustainable future for all.
