Animal House: A Guide to Keeping Animals in Your Village
The latest patch for the game has finally allowed players to make animals a permanent part of their villages. This guide will explain how to build an Animal House, lure them with Animal Treats, and the resources they can provide.
Building an Animal House
To build an Animal House, you will need to have a Village with a population of at least 10. Place the Animal House inside your Village so that your animals have a place to live.
Making Animal Treats
To lure animals to your Village, you will need to cook up Animal Treats. To do this, bring ingredients to your Cooking Pot, and you will be able to rustle up some Animal Treats to use on livestock.
Adding Animals to Your Village
Once you have your Animal Treats, find an animal that you want to add to your Village and start feeding them until they fall in love with you. You will know this has happened when hearts appear above their heads. The animal will now follow you so you can lead it back to your Village. Once there, walk over to your Barn and press the interact button as shown on your screen. You will then be able to assign the animal to its new home.
Types of Animals
There are four different animals you can add to your Village: cows, chickens, pigs, and sheep.
Resources from Animals
Each animal produces its own specific resource, so they all fill different purposes in your Village. Cows provide milk, chickens provide eggs, pigs provide pork, and sheep provide wool.
Animal Cap
The latest update increased the Village recruitment cap to 10, but some slots are locked for specific types of NPCs. You can have one of each type of livestock until you figure out which ones you really need.
