Anker’s Solix whole-home battery backup solution, first introduced nearly a year ago, is now available for purchase in North America. This innovative system provides reliable power during outages with its compact design, powerful performance, and long-lasting battery.
The Solix X1 boasts a slim profile of just 5.9 inches, enabling it to be mounted on a wall like Tesla’s Powerwall. Unlike portable power stations that can be detached for off-grid use, the Solix X1 is designed for a more permanent and aesthetically pleasing home energy solution. Its stackable design allows for customization, with power output ranging from 3kW to 36kW and battery capacity from 5kWh to 180kWh.
The Solix X1’s advanced technology ensures seamless transitions from grid to battery power in less than 20ms, ensuring uninterrupted operation during outages. The system’s intelligent design automatically charges in anticipation of severe weather events and operates reliably in extreme temperatures from -4 degrees Fahrenheit to 131 degrees Fahrenheit. With a NEMA Type 4 ingress rating, the Solix X1 is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, protecting against dust and rain.
The Solix X1 requires professional installation and can be integrated with solar panels to create a complete home micro-grid. This allows homeowners to maximize energy independence and potentially sell excess electricity back to the grid through California’s Net Energy Metering 3.0 (NEM 3.0) policy.
While Anker has not yet released pricing information, interested buyers can contact the company for details. The Solix X1 represents a significant advancement in whole-home battery backup technology, offering homeowners peace of mind, energy efficiency, and a sustainable path towards energy independence.
